Tasty Tuesday is the new name for our taste testing days. Today we tasted our first round of veggies. We tried them raw and cooked. Broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, onions, celery, and corn on the cob were on the tasting block today. Raw onion did not get any likes but most were surprised that they liked cooked onion. Raw carrots and celery won over the cooked version, but broccoli and cauliflower were preferred cooked. Corn on the cob was surprisingly preferred raw by many but everyone still enjoyed the fresh, local corn on the cob.
After the taste testing we made chicken pop pie cups with the leftover cooked veggie, canned chicken, cream of chicken soup, shredded cheese and canned biscuits. They were a hit with all the kids (and adults)
